Content
Interviews with staff and patients depict the main aspects of day care. Features an overview of day care and explains the range of groups available. Discusses the management of patients, and concludes with stigma. Additional material includes extended interviews with the staff and patients.

Music Therapy is a self-contained programme. Interview with a music therapist and a session in action (DVD only).

The Swimming Treatment – Behavioural Psychotherapy in Action Here we see a group of psychiatric patients going to the local swimming pool. As it happens, the outing is supervised by OT staff at this particular hospital but it could easily be nursing staff or psychologists elsewhere. Two of the staff are interviewed and provide a clear commentary in which the details and the pitfalls of the outing are discussed (DVD only).

Chapter headings and additional material allows the DVD to be used in a live lecture setting. However, main use is in a library or home setting for private study.

Shows how to make day hospital activities therapeutic rather than simply diverting. It is useful in any setting where students need to understand such principles and is ideal in a situation where groups of students are attending a day hospital placement on a regular basis.
